What does 2018 hold for wedding fashion?
With memories of 2017 fading fast, 2018 has most definitely arrived in all its glory. Last year saw greenery, shades of buff and epic dessert tables storm across weddings, and we’re so excited to see what this year’s favourites will be. We’ve taken a look across some of the trends we think might be gracing beautiful weddings in 2018.
Ultra Violet
We can’t go any further without mentioning the Pantone Colour of the Year. In fact we’ve devoted an entire blog to it! Inspired by vast galaxies and infinite space this rich, decadent and luxurious tone holds all the mysteries of a stunning day. Perfectly regal for giving a nod to a certain royal 2018 wedding…

Black
We saw it across all the bridal catwalks; touches of black are a gorgeous way to accessorise a white dress. Waistbands, overlays and appliques give a sophisticated and chic edge to your bridal outfit. Or why not go all the way with a show stopping black creation…?

Copper
Rose gold dominated the metallic element of wedding colour palettes last year and this year we think copper might have as big an impact. Industrial and eye catching, it’s a strong but pretty tone which livens up a myriad of different palettes.

Capes
Another catwalk trend, capes are back this year in all shapes and sizes. From cute shrugs to full length capes and everything in between, if you don’t have a cape to match your dress, you may be missing a trick!

Pearls
Iridescent tones give a magical twist to a colour palette which can stretch right across into accessories and décor. From hair slides to beading to jewellery, using pearly hues can add a touch of chic. Pearl’s perfect for a destination wedding too – scallop and oyster shells are ready made pearly decorations!

Wreaths
Wreaths are big. And small. And everywhere in between! Wreaths are becoming really popular as decoration in place of traditional floral displays. They’re so versatile, claiming their place comfortably on walls, doors and sitting proudly at the ends of aisles.

Velvet
You can’t fail to have noticed a growing trend for velvet and while it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, velvet accents can be a perfect accompaniment to a vintage or boho wedding as well as adding texture and a bit of old school glamour.

We’re excited to see these trends in a host of beautiful weddings this year. Hope we’ve inspired you to incorporate some 2018 fashion in your day!
