We were delighted to be invited to Kensington Palace to celebrate the annual Historic Royal Palaces’ Wedding Showcase. Last year’s showcase at Hampton Court Palace was such fun, so we were very much looking forward to seeing what Kensington Palace had to offer.
We had a fabulous night full of gorgeous food, wonderful entertainment and beautiful bridal gowns! Our evening began with a Cattier champagne reception in the King’s Drawing Room, part of the State Apartments recently licensed for ceremonies. We enjoyed delicious canapés by Blue Strawberry amongst gorgeous florals by Hayford & Rhodes before heading to the King’s Gallery for speeches and a fascinating talk on the history of wedding fashion by Kim Parker from Harper’s Bazaar and Martin Williams of Sotheby’s.

Our entertainment was spectacular, with singing and dancing, before we were treated to a fashion show by the Wedding Gallery, showcasing dresses by Suzanne Neville, J. Andreatta and Inbal Dror. The models wandered through the 8 ft floral mountains and around the golden catwalk – such a dramatic way to stage a show!
Stationery from Ananya Cards, furniture by Great Hire and four chef’s table experiences from Blue Strawberry made the evening such fun!
Kensington Palace is one of six palaces cared for by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces. The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle are also looked after by them.
