Ever considered a palace wedding…?
We enjoyed a beautiful evening at Hampton Court Palace recently, hosted by Historic Royal Palaces and showcasing the very best that they have to offer couples looking to get married at one of their six spectacular venues.
We saw the flexibility that the historic spaces have to host weddings and were able to really envisage the experiences that a happy couple would have on the day of their wedding at Hampton Court Palace.
It really is a stunning venue. We entered through the West Gate of the Tudor palace where we enjoyed fabulous performances from LED drummers and light walkers on stilts. A drinks reception in the Cartoon Gallery followed where we sampled four signature cocktails, each inspired by the palaces and their vibrant histories along with themed canapés to match.
We were summoned to dinner with the sound of a drumroll and were treated to a performance from the Minstrels Gallery. Speeches and a lovely meal followed and we enjoyed a taste of their menus – the venison was delicious and afterwards we were led to Henry VIII’s beer cellar for post dinner drinks and a variety of delicious desserts.
It was a stunning evening, a gorgeous showcase of what’s on offer from the unique and individual Historic Royal Palaces. As we left we were gifted with a piece of cake from Yevnig’s ‘Imperial Magnificence’, composed of six tiers and inspired by the unique features of each palace, it was utterly spectacular.
