Leading wedding and party planner Bruce Russell invited guests to make themselves ‘At Home’ at a unique house party at London’s iconic Savoy Hotel on Tuesday 8th March.
Guests arrived ‘At Home’ to a beautiful garden, complete with stunning floral borders, perfectly-preened grass lawns, an outdoor bar, a garden fountain of a rather decadent chocolate nature and a sizzling barbeque, tended by one of The Savoy’s top chefs.
With a ring of the doorbell and an official welcome by host Bruce Russell, guests moved on through to the ‘house’ and spent the evening devouring cakes in the ‘kitchen’, tucking into the heaving cheese board in the ‘sitting room’ and propping up the drinks trolley in the ‘dining room’. While some gathered around the grand piano for good old-fashioned sign-along, others nipped off to the ‘bathroom’ for a soak in the tub and a read of the paper!
In his quest to radically transform The Savoy’s River Room, Bruce opened up his Little Black Book of contacts and brought together the key ingredients for a fantastic party. From a perfectly set dining room table by Amara to a garden blossoming with beautiful spring blooms by Wild About and a bespoke menu by The Savoy’s creative culinary team, Bruce raised the roof at this house party with a difference!
As one of London’s top wedding and party planners, Bruce’s name is synonymous with passion, flair and style. An expert in the art of entertaining, he instinctively knew exactly how to pull off The Savoy’s annual industry showcase while nodding to the growing popularity of entertaining in the home.
Commenting on the evening, Bruce Russell said:
“Every night, there are new openings, launches and cocktail parties all over London, so it’s about doing things differently.
I aimed to deliver a truly memorable event: a one-off showcase of The Savoy, which would live long in the memory of its guests. And so I focused on the guest experience, making them feel at home – literally – with a sense of fun, playfulness and joie de vivre. We had a wonderful time,e and the ‘house’ was a buzz of excitement from the moment the first guest walked up the garden path to the last partygoer at the piano!”
At Home was created and hosted by Bruce Russell at The Savoy. The event was partnered with Lux Technical, Armorial, Amara, Emily Jane Bowers, Great Hire, Wild About, Wow Grass, Snapshot Staffing, Savoy Flowers and John Nassari.
