Blue Bridal Wear – Modern Retro

UK label Blue Bridal Wear will launch the new 2013 collection at The White Gallery in May. Inspired by style icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy the gowns hint at a glamorous bygone era whilst remaining firmly rooted in the 21st Century.

Blue Bridalwear was established in 1991 by designer Angela Pitcher Dowdell and the gowns feature signature clean lines and uncluttered decorative details.

Faces are framed by cute Peter Pan or elegant roll collars; shoulders are covered with gorgeous Guipure Lace or delightfully embellished organza; hemlines sit prettily just below the knee or fall to the floor and into a train. Silhouettes are full or circular skirted, princess line or long and slim flaring from the knee; all flatter the waistline. The fabrics used include crisp Silk Zibelines and softer Silk Dupions contrasted with exquisitely embellished French Lace, crunchy Guipure Lace and sheer Silk Organza.

Blue Bridalwear’s designer Angela Pitcher Dowdell says, “I am so excited about this new collection and I am delighted to be launching it at The White Gallery. We had a fantastic show last year, The White Gallery attracts quality designers and buyers and I look forward to more of the same this year.”

The latest collection from Blue Bridalwear will be showing on the catwalk in the British Talents fashion show on Monday 21st May at 2pm, Battersea Park 20-22 May 2012.
