Today’s real wedding is rather elegant and chic, and was all about the romance for Kristine and PJ. The wedding was set at Lord Thompson Manor, a mansion nestled into the woods, and was the perfect setting for the wedding.
Over to the bride:
P.J. and I met through my younger brother, Steven. P.J. plays softball on the same team as my brother and we met through some of the same friends! P.J. proposed in Rhode Island, he planned quite the surprise. He left me a note on Thursday to pack my bags that we were going to be going away for the weekend. On Friday morning we left and he brought me to a spa where we had a couples massage.

We then arrived as the Weekapaug Inn. Little did I know, he had gone a few weeks prior to plan out the whole weekend. After we arrived, we had a tour of our amazing suite, and then he asked me to go on a walk.
We walked to the cliff of the ocean, and that is where he proposed. We then spent the weekend enjoying amazing dinners and having fun with activities they had going on there! It was a dream come true!
The Lord Thompson Manor was the first and only place we looked at for our venue. As soon as we visited, and learned about their concept of a “wedding weekend”, and we fell in love. It really encompassed everything we wanted out of our wedding. A venue that would make it about us, with exceptional eye for detail. We were a part of planning every last detail of the entire weekend. We were able to build our dream wedding here, with all the ideas we had in mind. We really wanted our families to be involved as much as possible, and really tell our love story through our ideas for the entire weekend.
On Friday we were able to have a “theme” rehearsal dinner which was a great Texas BBQ outside, with a fire pit and amazing food. We were able to show our slideshow of growing up on a big screen outside while bundled by the fire. The Spa House, where the girls got ready on Saturday, and stayed the entire weekend was just breathtaking. It’s charm made it feel so special. Everyone who worked there made sure every last detail was taken care of, and that stress was not an issue. The wedding day was just as I imagined. It allowed for people to feel comfortable, and have fun! The design of the manor was just perfect. The way the Manor is lit at night made it a real romantic fairytale! Our wedding was anything but typical, but it was just perfect for celebrating our love! It was the best “weekend” of my life!!
