The Domaine de Bel Ombre in the south of Mauritius is introducing a collection of experiences inspired by nature and its elements – earth, water and air – that will challenge the perception of Mauritius just being a ‘fly and flop’ destination. The new holiday by Heritage Resorts enables guests to create their own itinerary of activities to explore the naturally beautiful environment of the Domaine and the surrounding region.
The Domaine de Bel Ombre is an area of beguiling natural beauty, stretching from the regal mountains to a turquoise lagoon. Within the Domaine lies the 3,500 acre Frédérica Nature Reserve which is the island’s first wildlife area protected by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. The reserve extends from sea level to 400 metres altitude and is home to an abundance of endemic wildlife that is unique to Mauritius. Visitors will marvel at the diversity of the landscape which ranges from infinite plains to cascading waterfalls. The Domaine also boasts some of the finest coastal landscapes on the island with white sandy beaches and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.
Guests have a personal guide or ‘navigator’ to help facilitate all aspects of the itinerary including when to do the activities and the length of time they will take.
