We loved every minute of New York Bridal Fashion Week, but our highlight had to be the live proposal on Watters’ runway – such a beautiful moment! But what of the dresses?! We had Viennese ballgowns from Elie Saab, lingerie style corsets from Temperley and straps are back for Caroline Castigliano. From satins to tulles and with a few hand embellishments thrown in for good measure, here’s a few of our favourites from New York Bridal Fashion Week, showcasing top designers’ SS19 collections.
Temperley’s Eliza gown has a gorgeous bow and back detail and is scattered with sweet flowers and beading. Elie Saab’s ballgowns are just ruffles for days! Beautiful sparkles adorn the bodice and trickle down the sleeves. Corsets and lace for Temperley’s Lucille gown, with a pretty layered tulle flared skirt, giving contrast and movement to a form fitting dress. Sweet and sparkling shoulder straps were seen throughout Caroline Castigliano’s collection. We love the effortless, relaxed style of this one, leaving a pure skirt with embellishments to the bodice floating down to it. BHLDN showcased some beautiful creations. We love the shimmering contrasted florals and blush waistband, for a hint of colour. Image: Mohamed Sadek If you want structure, Elie Saab’s ballgowns are where it’s at. Traditional, yet perfectly designed for a chic and stylish bride. We adore the simple satin and wraparound bodice. Galia Lahav’s runway gave us embellishments and sleek silhouettes. We adore the contrast of simple skirt and sparkling embellished bodice – the perfect combination! Pretty princess gowns from Blush by Hayley Paige, Olympia has a draped wraparound bodice and nipped in waist to really make a feature of the beautiful full tulle skirt. Ines di Santo’s Mia embroidered strapless plunging V-neck gown is accessorised with an illusion bolero and cathedral train – such a fabulous combination. Gorgeous Chantilly lace sleeves and a thick satin cummerbund make for a truly stunning dress, ‘Albertine’, from Monique Lhuellier.
