An epic dress needs an epic finish – a flourish that shows your personality and adds some gorgeous detail to your look. And what better way to achieve this than with a statement veil or head piece?! From short and sweet veils to crystal embellished tiaras, I love an eye catching accessory, and here are five of my faves.
A different veil
I love a veil with a twist, and this one is definitely one of the best. Featuring a rainbow of sparkling crystals hand embellished onto beautiful ivory tulle this Candyland crystal embellished rainbow veil from Crown and Glory can also be dip dyed or full dyed in a colour of your choice and comes in chapel or cathedral lengths. I adore the idea of a hint of rainbow twinkle following you down the aisle!
Faux flower crown
A flower crown is the perfect accessory for a boho bride, and a gorgeous alternative to a veil. Worn with loose hair, or intertwined with a braid, if you’re a bold bride, a flower crown is definitely for you. The question is, fresh or faux? While we adore fresh florals, a faux flower crown does have some advantages – it can be bought well in advance, travels well for destination weddings and can look just as beautiful. I love this sweet wreath of silk flowers from Gypsy Rose Vintage – an ivory rose, blue hydrangea and pink blossom sits beautifully on a eucalyptus base.
If you’re going full on princess bride, a tiara is the head piece for you! Traditional tiaras are still so pretty – sparkling away, teamed with a traditional or alternative veil. I’ve fallen for this impressive crystal creation from Liberty in Love, embellished with an intricate pattern of delicate flowers, leaves and vines and sparkling with layers of crystals.
Hair vines are a really beautiful way of sparkling up your do! Woven through a braid or embellishing a tousled half up-half down style, they’re so versatile. This Hermione Harbutt Violette mother of pearl garland from Lace and Favour is one of my favourites. So elegant and sweet, tiny mother of pearl flowers sit alongside branches of Swarovski crystals, perfect for winding through a romantic braid.
Feeling brave? Want something really epic? How about this beautifully soft and elegant feather headdress from Agnes Hart? With gold feathers mirroring the pure white real ones, this is a spectacular, chic alternative to crystals, diamonds and pearls. You could even buy it as an evening adornment after a more formal headpiece for the ceremony. I adore this one!
