Real wedding: Cabin in the woods

We love the idea of escaping to a cabin in the woods with our friends and family to say our vows. The romance of the forest, the secluded privacy and the chance to escape to breathtaking beauty is something that is just irresistible.

I love this remote cabin wedding. Kelsey and Brian said their vows in front of close family and friends, tucked under thousand-year-old pine trees with a gently flowing creek and birds chirping in the distance. The most gorgeous detail was that the photographer for their day was a lifelong friend – what a special gift to capture images of a close friend and provide those memories to last a lifetime.

Kelsey’s dress was simple, but beautiful in its detail. Opting for an A-line dress by BHLDN, it shimmered with sequins and botanical embroidery which stretched across the bodice and right down onto the tulle skirt, perfectly complimenting the natural surroundings.

The couple blended rustic vintage with chic luxury perfectly. From the coloured cut glass tumblers to the personalised place names, everything was thought through and presented with the utmost care and attention.

To match the location, flowers were wild but abundant. Lush green foliage surrounded flowers in tones of red and russet, with a hint of peach to lift the palette – it’s such a good idea to include a lighter shade if you’re going for a deep, rich palette.

The couple kept their day incredibly personal, with a bridesmaid officiating as well as their friend taking the photographs which made for such an intimate and special day.
