This past week Ruby with Roses has been involved with a prime TV company – Cwmni da. The brief was to supply for hire, china and linen for a Victorian setting in The Judges Lodging Museum in the pretty village of Presteigne.
The china was to grace a Victorian table, the production team wanted to recreate the art of fine dining the Victorian way. Oh, and what a gentle art it was, it was such a delight for us to be able to supply authentic china. When the table was finally laid for filming it looked fantastic with the crisp white linen showing off the china to perfection.
Of course, the vintage themes of today are quite different we don’t usually have six or seven courses to get through. Thank goodness we say better dainty meals for today’s figure conscious society.
Wedding cuisine looks absolutely divine on quality china emblazoned with beautiful designs. We at Ruby with Roses suspect that this fact is part of our success. What bride would not want her guests to enjoy sitting at an elegantly laid table, set perfectly with the very best of English china.
Yes! we must agree, that the Victorian age was indeed an age of gracious living, but we in the 21st Century know a thing or two.
