Rustic romance in Toronto

Lights and music for a vintage vibe

Abigail and Jadewin created a beautiful wedding day at Toronto’s historic Berkley Church. The old, character filled building had a unique feel and the couple used a vintage theme to stamp their personalities over the whole day. They wanted a wedding that incorporated rustic, romantic and modern features and their day really reflected their attention to every perfect detail.

The bride

Abigail chose a beautiful strapless fit and flare gown with gorgeous lace overlay and sweet train. Elegant crystals enhanced the neckline and bodice, perfectly matching the hand sewn crystals that edged her veil. She chose to wear her hair up, showing off her beautiful drop earrings and sweetheart neckline.

The groom

Dapper in blue, Jadewin opted for a navy blue suit, accessorised with a silver tie and brown shoes. We see so many grooms loving a blue suit, and it fits the vintage theme really well, being slightly less formal than its black tux counterpart.

The wedding party

Lilac for the girls, silver-grey for the guys! The light colours of the bridal party really made the couple shine. The girls complimented the colour palette in pretty chiffon sheath dresses with a strapless sweetheart neckline to match the bridal gown, and groomsmen’s suits were the reverse of the groom’s colours, with a navy tie and silver-grey suit.

The florals

The pretty pastel colour palette brought tones of peach, pink and cream together with roses, peonies and ranunculi making the prettiest bouquets. Each bridesmaid held a smaller version of the bride’s.

The venue

The couple chose to focus on light rather than flowers to decorate their wedding venue. Sweet vintage style lanterns and flickering tea lights adorned the tables and strings of fairy lights threw pretty light patterns around the room and through the rafters. With rustic hand tied favours and boho stationery, the venue perfectly hosted the vintage vibe, with gorgeous stained glass windows adding an extra colour to the celebrations. A rustic, romantic wedding in Toronto A rustic, romantic wedding in TorontoA rustic, romantic wedding in TorontoA rustic, romantic wedding in Toronto

The celebration

The celebration had a definite musical feel, with a song from a bridesmaid and the groom serenading his new wife before the party started and the guests danced the night away with the new mr and mrs.
