We had the pleasure of attending the leading English wedding dress designer Sassi Holford 2014 Couture Collection at The In & Out last week.
Her elegant creations are regarded as a benchmark for wedding gown styles for the year ahead and her show was the culmination of ITA’s second annual wedding event.
For the event the ITA team called in favours from their legendary Little Black Book to invite a must-meet team of the greatest names in weddings. First on this list was The In & Out – a Club that dates back to 1865 when membership cost £5.5s and which, to this day is one of the best addresses for a central London wedding.
Other stars included: a tasting menu from the Ampersand culinary team at The In & Out; floral displays from Purple Tiger Floral Design, wedding cake inspiration from The Abigail Bloom Cake Company, and music from Niche – The London String Quartet.
Following canapés in the King Harald V Room, guests moved upstairs to the Coffee Room to view Sassi’s 2014 Couture collection and afterwards mingled with suppliers over a series of dessert tastings.
The tasting menu from The In & Out culinary team confirmed Ampersand’s status as preeminent wedding caterers. They wowed guests with innovations such as its Canapé Make up Bag – which included Duck and Orange lip sticks; Goat cheese Toothpaste tubes; and edible Make up Compacts. A series of wedding-inspired tasting menus followed.
Sassi Holford shot to fame when she created the dress for the royal wedding of Autumn Kelly to Peter Phillips, son of the Princess Royal.
The Sassi Holford Couture Collection is available with a bespoke service at Sassi’s beautiful Chelsea boutique, while the Sassi Holford Signature Collection is available at an exclusive list of bridal stores in the UK, Eire and North America. Sassi is a self-taught and self-made bridal designer from Taunton, and has been creating beautiful wedding dresses for over 30 years.
