Elegant, opulent and extravagant, the scene was set. With a stunning, quintessentially English manor house, luxurious fabrics, luscious florals and decadent cakes, this bridal shoot oozed sophistication.
The colour palette
We love the vibrant blue and gold colour palette as it popped against the fluffy white roses, mixed with hydrangeas and orchids to create an extravagant display. Table linens sparkled with gold and blue sequins and Wedgewood and Vera Wang china took pride of place, accented perfectly by stunning gold place names, enough to make any guest feel like royalty. A vibrant colour palette really makes a statement and is perfect for a country house wedding or venue with simple décor.
When it comes to cakes, we love a strong, dramatic centrepiece. The marbled blue tiers, decadently embellished with 24 carat gold leaf really appeal with regal charm. And accompanied by giant macarons, cupcakes and matching swizzle sticks, Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium has got us dreaming of an indulgent dessert banquet table to surprise and delight guests.
A sheer lace gown is still very much the dress of the moment, and here we saw two absolutely stunning creations by Zuhair Murad. Embellished with micro pearls, sequins and beading, the whisper thin train of the first dress floated elegantly in the breeze, a vision of bridal perfection, and we simply adore the long sleeves for added sophistication – perfect for an Autumn wedding.
The second dress featured beautiful embroidery, beading and cute accent buttons. With dresses like this, strong statement jewellery is an ideal accompaniment, as small, delicate pieces would simply be lost. Blue jewel tones set alongside diamonds were perfect accessories for the elegant dresses. In addition to the jewellery, on trend statement shoes danced prettily underneath the lace.
Hair and make up
Simple hair and makeup accompanied the dresses, with tousled locks worn down around her shoulders and smoky eyes to accompany the first dress, and then tied up to draw the eye to the intricate embellishment of the second.
A slick, tailored groom is just the perfect vision. And a navy suit is an ideal choice – softer than a traditional black ensemble. Fitting with the blue colour palette, the groom’s bespoke suit by Jon Kruger was effortlessly chic.
