About

Cornwell Manor is a private Georgian estate in the Cotswolds, available for exclusive three-night weddings. Ceremonies in the Ballroom, gardens or on-site church, with marquee receptions for up to 300 guests, lake views and an outdoor heated pool.

Cornwell Manor is a quintessentially English manor house on a privately owned 2,000-acre estate near Chipping Norton on the Oxfordshire-Gloucestershire border. The house has 12 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, sleeping up to 24 guests. Beauty is in abundance at Cornwell: the house is a classical Georgian manor, the gardens exquisite, and the views breathtaking.

Cornwell Manor is a private home to the Ward family, but is also available to hire exclusively throughout the year for weddings and luxury 3-night stays (the hire period runs from Thursday noon to Sunday 5pm, making it perfect for destination weddings).

There are multiple marquees for up to 300 guests. Cornwell is licenced for civil ceremonies, either in the elegant Ballroom (for up to 100 seated guests) or in the gardens, weather permitting. It has a church on site, seating up to 80. All weddings will require the hire of a marquee through one of Cornwell's preferred suppliers and catering from one of their tried-and-tested caterers, as listed on the website. A wedding planner is a necessity.

The gardens are extensive with lake views, a croquet lawn, topiary and terraces, an Italianate fountain and an outdoor heated pool - perfect for a Sunday pool party the day after!

Widely acclaimed for being in one of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds, it is also within easy reach of Heathrow airport, with good transport links to London and Oxford. It is also close to Daylesford Organic (a farm shop and spa), Soho Farmhouse, and numerous picture-perfect villages where gourmet pubs and restaurants abound.

Swimming Pool

Beyond the formal terraces and sculpted lawns, Cornwell Manor reveals one of its most joyful features, an outdoor heated swimming pool set within the gardens. Framed by greenery and open sky, it adds a relaxed, almost Riviera-like energy to an otherwise classical English estate.

The pool becomes particularly special on the Sunday of the three-night stay. After the formality of the wedding day, guests can gather poolside for a laid-back brunch or afternoon swim, turning the final day into a celebration in its own right. Linen shirts replace black ties, music drifts softly across the lawn, and the atmosphere shifts from grand to effortlessly sociable.

For destination weddings, this detail matters. It extends the experience beyond ceremony and reception, giving guests space to unwind and connect before departure, all within the privacy of a 2,000-acre Cotswold estate.

Cornwell Manor exceeded all expectations.
I’ve had the pleasure of taking photos here on two occasions, and Cornwell Manor exceeded all expectations. I knew the outside was beautiful, but I was pleasantly surprised by the interiors. Perfect backdrop for wedding photos! And Charlotte is absolutely lovely, a well-run venue.

Venue Capacity

Cornwell Manor offers the rare balance of intimacy and grandeur, allowing couples to host a deeply personal wedding weekend while welcoming a significant guest list in spectacular style. The Georgian house feels refined and private, yet the surrounding estate opens up beautifully for larger celebrations beneath canvas and sky.

Ceremonies unfold with quiet elegance in the Ballroom, where up to 100 guests can be seated beneath classical proportions and soft natural light. For those drawn to tradition, the on-site church welcomes up to 80 guests, offering a seamless transition from vows to reception within the estate grounds. Garden ceremonies are also possible, weather permitting, framed by lake views, terraces and sweeping lawns.

Receptions take place within a marquee, provided through one of the manor’s preferred suppliers, with capacity for up to 300 guests. It is here that the scale expands, long tables, candlelight and dancing beneath draped ceilings, all set against the backdrop of 2,000 acres of Cotswold countryside.

For the wedding party, the manor sleeps up to 24 guests across 12 bedrooms, allowing your closest circle to remain at the heart of the celebration from Thursday through to Sunday afternoon.

Pricing/Offers

Cornwell Manor sits confidently within the luxury wedding category, offering exclusive three-night hire of a 2,000-acre private estate in the Cotswolds. Rather than a fixed package, the celebration is entirely bespoke, shaped around your vision and delivered in partnership with trusted suppliers and a professional wedding planner.

The hire period runs from Thursday at noon until Sunday at 5 pm, allowing time for welcome dinners, rehearsal moments, the wedding day itself and a relaxed Sunday gathering by the pool or on the lawns. This extended access transforms the occasion into a destination weekend, giving couples and their guests space to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

A suggested minimum overall wedding budget is from £120,000, reflecting the scale, exclusivity and level of production typically associated with events at Cornwell Manor. The hire fee itself remains consistent throughout the year, offering clarity and predictability in planning. Dining

Dining at Cornwell Manor is designed to feel like a private country house celebration rather than a standard venue service. There is no in-house catering team, which gives couples the freedom to curate a menu that reflects their style, culture and guest experience, while still working within a trusted framework.

All catering must be selected from Cornwell Manor’s preferred list of experienced caterers. These suppliers understand the scale of marquee weddings, the logistics of working within a private estate, and the level of refinement expected at this address. From elegant multi-course plated dinners to generous sharing feasts or refined modern British tasting menus, the approach is bespoke and production-led.

The estate lends itself beautifully to layered dining moments across the three-night stay. A relaxed welcome supper on Thursday evening, perhaps served family style in the house or within a smaller marquee. A rehearsal dinner with candlelight and curated wines. On the wedding day, a statement reception beneath canvas, with champagne on the lawns and a beautifully orchestrated dinner service. Sunday can be transformed into a recovery brunch or poolside lunch, extending the hospitality and allowing guests to linger.

Venue Availability

Cornwell Manor is available for exclusive wedding hire throughout the year, offering couples the rare privilege of uninterrupted access to a private 2,000-acre Cotswold estate. Each celebration is structured as a three-night stay, from Thursday at noon until Sunday at 5 pm, allowing time for a full destination wedding experience rather than a single-day event.

The estate does not operate on a seasonal pricing model, and the hire structure remains consistent across the calendar. This clarity allows couples to select their preferred season based purely on aesthetic and guest experience, whether that means spring blossom in the gardens, high summer marquee celebrations, or golden autumn light across the lake.

Cornwell Manor is not available at Christmas or Easter. All other weekends across the year are considered for exclusive hire, subject to availability, and early booking is recommended due to the limited number of wedding dates offered annually.
