Skylines and stained glass
Michael and Haley wed against a great Chicago skyline – the perfect backdrop for a beautifully classic wedding.
The Bride
Haley chose a beautiful strapless white JCrew mermaid gown for the ceremony, changing the skirt for the celebration afterwards and opting for a floating Grecian style skirt. A sparkling waistband accessorized the simple, chic style as it tied in a long, sleek ribbon at the back, tumbling elegantly over the tulle ruffles of the dress. Her Badgley Mischka shoes matched the waistband perfectly, giving a little extra sparkle underneath the dress.
The Groom
Michael went for a sleek and shiny black tux and teamed it with a white rose buttonhole with pink berries to match his bride’s bouquet.
The wedding party
Michael’s groomsmen matched him with their black tuxedos, but contrasted buttonholes to match the colour palette of the flowers, opting for pale pink roses instead. The bridesmaids’ dresses complimented Haley’s perfectly, with a similar crossover sweetheart neckline and floating tulle skirt. Their shoes were neutral to really make the dresses pop. Bouquets were small and simple, but elegant and perfectly formed; hand tied pink and white roses with sprigs of pink berries, with the bride’s appearing larger and with more luxurious blooms as well as lilac lavender accents.
The decoration
The couple wanted a natural and elegant décor to contrast with the man-made Chicago skyline, so chose mossy greens and pale flowers to decorate their day. They teamed this with their accent colour of lilac on escort cards and stationery, underpinning it all with a luxurious gold metallic accent to add some sparkle.
The ceremony and celebration
Held under a majestic candle chandelier against a backdrop of beautiful wood panels, the ceremony had a perfect grand atmosphere. Candles lined the aisle and sun shone through the beautiful stained glass windows, throwing a rainbow of colours over the ceremony.
The celebrations continued as the sun set and the coloured light faded away. Smooth jazz accompanied the meal as friends and family celebrated this beautiful day.
Then speeches, cake cutting and, of course, dancing the night away.
