Looking for Honeymoon ‘Passion’ in the Orient?

Stay at The Scarlet – Singapore’s Sultry, Seductive Secret

Nestled away from Singapore’s skyscraping blocks of business hotels and multi-storey designer shopping malls is The Scarlet, Singapore’s first luxury boutique hotel, which discreetly sits in the historic heart of Singapore – Old China Town.

Once a dishevelled and run down district frequented mainly by locals, Singapore’s China Town has undergone a regeneration program to preserve the traditional Peranakan style houses. The result is a village style atmosphere where a lively scene of independent coffee shops, small art gallerys and rooftop bars has sprung up, making this side of Singapore feel more like an undiscovered corner of Berlin or New York.

Luxury Honeymoons

The Scarlet is the perfect base for amorous honeymooners wanting to explore the island of Singapore…but it is doubtful that you’ll want to leave this hotel at all. Walking into the reception of this award winning heritage building, we find ourselves amidst beautifully rich laquered interiors, opulent crystal chandeliers and deep coloured velvet furnishings, all of which hint at typical chinese décor but without being chintzy. The hotel’s world of sensuality gets you in the mood right from the start.

The suites are all uniquely designed and have characters of their own with seductive names such as Splendour, Passion, Opulent, Lavish and Swank. One of our favourite
suites, ‘Opulent’, provides an art deco hideaway with a striking, gold sunbeam headboard and vintage style furnishings in turquoise and gold. ‘Passion’ is of course, the honeymoon suite and doesn’t disappoint with its own outdoor jacuzzi, four poster bed and fuchsia, silver and black colour scheme. ‘Splendour’, is the biggest suite with its interconnecting rooms, lounge area and two double beds. This suite offers the perfect party pad for a bridal shower and all pre-wedding preparations.

Luxury Honeymoon
The Passion Suite – The Scarlett Hotel Singapore

The hotel’s original $45million dollar refurbishment is still very much apparent. Due to the fact that it was designated as a heritage building, many of the rooms have had to be left in the original shape, allowing for some quirky and fun layouts, huge bay windows and décor that is always bold, daring and just slightly risque!

If Singapore is your choice of a place to get married, then The Scarlet can even hold your wedding ceremony up on its pretty rooftop terrace, with all the splendour
of the hotel being framed by the city’s skyline. Likewise, the rooftop bar makes a lovely Mediterranean style reception venue with its marquees and lush landscaping, perfect for cocktails under the stars.

Singapore is actually a city with hundreds of years of Colonial and Asian history, often forgotten by its fast-moving modern image but this is now being remembered, valued and preserved by the government. The Scarlet’s refurb reflects this with the exterior in a discreet dark grey and the balconies and many original features of this heritage building remaining intact. Outside the streets are lined with pretty boutiques and quirky shops under the shaded walkways, just right for a bit of afternoon shopping and exploring together.

So whether you are a newly-wed couple deciding on a honeymoon destination or are in search of an exotic stopover on the way to Australia or Bora-Bora, the Scarlet will
without a doubt, get even the most unromantic souls in the mood for some passion…

Stay in the ‘Passion’ suite with its own private outdoor jacuzzi and enjoy lover’s amenities to spice up a night’s romp, two standard cocktails at ‘Bold’ bar, a selection of other complimentary beverages, 20% discount at the hotel’s bars and restaurants, late checkout at 3pm (subject to availability) and breakfast.
