Established in 1994, Summerill & Bishop is a kitchen shop that reflects the allure of a Provencal home filled with hand crafted earthenware, glassware and natural home products. Their collection of kitchen and tableware is a celebration of charming neutral earthy tones coupled with the elegance of modern yet simple and eclectic styles.
Set up by longtime friends June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop, the shop in Clarendon Cross first opened its doors in May 1994. Spending a lot of time in their kitchens, June and Bernadette decided to create a kitchen shop, selling only the things they liked and would have in their own home. Governed by the simple notion that the kitchen is at the heart of every home, and sharing a passion for family life, cooking and entertaining, their shop truly reflects this philosophy.
The combination of modern and old which June and Bernadette discover on their relentless quest for imaginative and stylish products makes the shop a wonderful and stimulating environment. Each item has been carefully selected, taken into consideration the beauty of its form and function. Sourced from France, Italy, Belgium, England, South Africa, Germany and the Middle East they sell pieces that are not mass produced, often hand crafted and cannot easily be found elsewhere.
