As if we needed any more excuses to get excited about the royal wedding, we were delighted to be invited to a royal wedding-inspired event, hosted by the five-star luxury hotel, The Berkeley in London.
Some of our favourite wedding people were there, and we had fun speculating about the royal wedding itself and if it might bear any resemblance to our own stunning evening! We loved catching up with Rula from Rula Parties and were delighted to sit next to the fabulous Johnny Roxburgh, party architect.
The room itself was so pretty, with flickering candles strewn around and adorning the table, which had a beautiful centrepiece of wildflowers running down it. Towering above were golden stands, twined with golden ivy and reaching up to fresh roses – a gorgeous combination of natural and industrial, and a clever way to incorporate a metallic into the palette.
An epic dessert table finished off the room’s decor, with a towering white creation by GC Couture, perfectly decorated with white and navy sugar flowers, sitting above cake pops, macarons, cookies and beautifully decorated cupcakes.
The food was divine. After enjoying canapés, we sat down to Scottish smoked salmon, followed by Mediterranean seabass and then a gorgeous Aberdeen Angus beef fillet, rounded off beautifully with a palate-cleansing celebratory strawberry champagne sorbet and then a light and fluffy raspberry and orange blossom gateaux. Plenty of bubbles and fun cocktails rounded out the night and we enjoyed the talents of the opera singers between courses.
The whole evening was a perfect way to start our royal wedding celebrations and really showed how The Berkeley could host the ideal wedding.
