The Montagu Arms Hotel: If you are looking for a romantic getaway from all the wedding planning then you’d be hard-pressed to find somewhere more peaceful than Montague Arms where we have just spent the past week. I discovered the unique charm of the award wining hotel The Montagu Arms recently and wanted to share my experience of this beautiful hotel.
About The Montagu Arms Hotel:
Located in the picturesque village of Beaulieu, set amidst beautiful gardens and quietly nestling in depths of the New Forest National Park. With history dating back to 1742, the traditional character of the hotel is reflected throughout the old brick fireplace and its roaring open fires, the large cosy sofas and beautiful oak panelling all of which create a truly homely atmosphere.
The Rooms:
The hotel is a perfect retreat for couples with only 22 bedrooms, each with its own unique character and personality. From my Suite I enjoyed stunning views overlooking the magnificently manicured English garden. My Suite was a generous size, and felt extremely cosy and was exquisitely furnished. The bathroom had a the most comfortable sized bath with The Willow Organic bathroom products, and a separate shower.

The Terrace Restaurant
Dinner for the evening was served in The Michelin Star 3 AA Rosette Terrace Restaurant and I had a the most memorable experience. The menu, created by Michelin star chef Matthew Tomkinson, uses only the finest quality ingredients which are, as far as possible, local, free range and organic.

Here is what I had the pleasure of eating:

Out and About
Whether you enjoy walking or would prefer to cycle along the New Forest’s dedicated routes over 200 miles of track there is plenty to discover. The nearby town of Lymington offers pretty boutique-lined cobbled streets and a Saturday market, plus a charming marina and ferries to the Isle of Wight. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Beaulieu and would recommend the hotel to couples looking for some peace and quite.
