The five-star hotel has 41 rooms and is the former 18th-century Manor House and a former hunting lodge of the third Duke of Marlborough. It has been luxuriously renovated recently into a stunning country retreat, for affluent guests looking for an exquisite hideaway. Located in 150 acres of formal gardens and parklands, originally designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, the hotel oozes opulence and is the perfect country retreat for a lavish getaway, a luxury spa treat or an exclusive wedding venue. Just a short drive from central London and in the heart of Langley Park surrounded by 50 acres of parkland, The Langley Hotel has reopened its doors to welcome guests for the 2020 Christmas season and is looking incredibly festive…

Colour triggers emotion and after the surreal year that we have all had, Paula Rooney and her team chose to dress the hotel with bright colours for maximum impact and breathtaking first impressions. The 15-foot tree stands wrapped by the spiral staircase and is decorated in fairy lights and dazzling baubles mirroring the colours in the cascading reception fireplace arrangement, all chosen to tie in perfectly with the colours featured within the hotel’s original artwork. As you meander through the hotel, you enjoy a different festive experience in each room; from the plum and greens of the drawing room with classic décor and original artwork to the winter white mantelpiece arrangement in the lake room and the cascading icy silver garland within the Cedar Restaurant… each room is dressed for Christmas, but with a unique and individual design in each beautiful room.

With strict COVID-19 social distancing rules in place currently for the UK, intimate celebrations are all that is allowed this Christmas and the wine cellar at The Langley is perfect for a private evening celebration, with some delicious food and festive cheer! The Churchill bar was dressed for Christmas to compliment the bold décor, with pops of colours to match Sir Winston Churchill’s spotted bow tie! Champagne flowed and festive cocktails of Salted Caramel Expresso Martini & The last Tango were served in front of a roaring log fire.

The hotel’s wine cellar was set up for a pre-Christmas soirée in traditional festive colours of dark red teamed and gold to create a beautiful festive tablescape with tableware from White House Event Crockery www.eventcrockeryhire.co.uk  teamed with linen napkins from 88 Events www.88events.com. Each individual place setting had menus and place names, designed by Ananya Cards www.ananyacards.com

A Christmas event wouldn’t be the same without a traditional gingerbread house, but of course Elizabeth’s cake Emporium www.elizabethscakeemporium.com  gingerbread house will always be unique and utterly original – a jewel incrusted design, a brightly coloured statement cake to mirror the bright colours in both the artwork and the festive décor.
