Luxury footwear brand launch custom-made shoe service: AW 2007 will see Oliver Sweeney, British luxury footwear and accessory specialist launch an exclusive custom-made shoe service.The service will offer the style savvy consumer the opportunity to create a truly unique shoe made on the patented Oliver Sweeney Anatomical Last*.With a choice of exotic materials such as crocodile, ostrich and iguana skin in a variety of colours, there will be over 100 design possibilities.

custom-made-shoe-crocAs well as choosing from the range of colours and skins, customers will be able to select details such as piping, lining and lace options. Built around the two popular toe shapes, “Twister” and “Venice”, customers can choose from a selection of 24 exotic skins in colours ranging from baby blue, cream, and grey to brilliant green and gold.The chosen crocodile, ostrich or iguana skin can then be teamed with the large colour palette of plain leathers including seasonal shades of khaki, tan and nero as well as more off the wall hues of lilac, lime, bright orange and striking yellows.

custom-made-shoe-soleAlong with selecting the main design features, the customer can also take the customisation one step further by personalising the sole of the shoe with an embossed stamp. This can range from the wearer’s name, initials, a pertinent date or message, allowing the customer to have their design credentials permanently embedded in the shoe.

custom-made-shoeThe custom-made shoe service involves the customer in the design process from beginning to end, from the initial design consultation where the customer will be fitted for the right size to selecting toe shape, colours, skins, lacing and detailing.After the design is signed off by the customer, it is then sent to Oliver Sweeney’s factory in Ancona, Italy, where it will be created uniquely to the customer’s specifications and hand finished.The service will be available in the brand’s three standalone stores – New Bond St, Kings Road and Leeds as well as the brand’s concession in Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge.

The final shoe will be delivered to the customer packaged in a wooden box with an embossed Oliver Sweeney custom-made shoe logo.The entire custom-made process takes up to 12 weeks and prices range from £495 up to £990
