Real wedding: Outdoor Italian wedding

Another gorgeous Italian real wedding from our friend Leonardo Tornabene at Ballon Rouge. Leonardo is an Italian photographer based in Turin and Catania, but travels across Italy capturing the most magical moments to hold forever.

I adore the relaxed beauty in this wedding – from the outdoor ceremony to the bride’s elegant layered outfit and the sweet dove release, this one even had the couple’s dog at the altar with them.

A fresh garden celebration

Vintage cars and fresh flowers were the order of the day for Francesca and Goffredo as they celebrated their new life together. From the blooms tumbling from under the altar, to the beautiful flower crown on Francesca’s head and the wreaths adorning the vintage cars, the couple’s outdoor wedding was true to the nature that surrounded them. I love the way they enhanced their surroundings by bringing even more colour and fragrance to the day. I also adore those vintage rugs that softened the stone floor of the ceremony space – such a gorgeous way to bring a relaxed and comfortable vibe.

The vintage theme continued with birdcages, wicker baskets and lace drapes at the natural ‘photo booth’ – a fun area outside that gave a cute backdrop for friends’ photos.

An outdoor wedding gives a lot more freedom to the outfits. You want to feel relaxed and comfortable enough, whilst still feeling like a princess. Francesca’s outfit was the perfect choice. A simple sheath dress gave a sleek and elegant base to layer over a vintage lace kimono, with embellishments and fringing that moved so beautifully in the gentle breeze. The kimono gave her a gorgeous train, and the sleeves were cut asymmetrically to add movement and shape.  Goffredo went for a striking blue ensemble, perfectly standing out against the natural tones of their outdoor wedding. With navy trousers he paired a powder blue jacket and shoes to match, along with a cute patterned bow tie.

With strings of lights strewn across the courtyard, the family and friends celebrated in style, ending with a dip in the pool. A gloriously romantic and personal day in the prettiest of Italian surroundings.
