Marryme in Greece

Marryme in Greece is a boutique destination wedding planning company. It specialises in weddings in Santorini and arranges civil, symbolic, Orthodox and Catholic ceremonies, renewals of vows and elopements, as well as weddings built around a venue such as a winery.

The team plans weddings on the islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Kea, Hydra, Chios, Skopelos, Skiathos and Spetses, and in mainland locations including Athens, Porto Heli, Nafplion and Monemvasia. It has long-term relationships with the venues, photographers, florists, musicians, drivers and caterers it recommends, and chooses them to suit each couple's style and budget.

Couples can choose from all-inclusive Santorini packages, simpler packages that leave the venue to the couple, and micro-wedding packages for elopements and renewals of vows. Custom weddings are also planned. The team also helps with the legal paperwork needed to marry in Greece, including the documents, apostilles and translations required for each nationality.

Beyond the ceremony, the services include hair and make-up, flowers, decoration, music and DJs, lighting, photography and video, fireworks, wedding cakes and transport. Rehearsal dinners, post-wedding brunches, catamaran day cruises, candy bars and table design can be added.

My husband and I were thrilled to have trusted Olympia with planning our Santorini wedding in August 2018 at Santo Wines and Pyrgos. Planning a wedding having never visited the venue or even the island for that matter can be incredibly scary, but Olympia took this stress away and we can’t thank her enough for organising a day more perfect than we could have ever imagined!

Review

My husband Mike and I were extremely pleased with the services Olympia provided. When we decided to have our wedding in Greece, we knew we needed a professional on the ground to help us navigate all the details of our wedding and we found this with Olympia. First, Olympia was very responsive which immediately put us at ease. She was willing to handle a small service which was another plus and she had a great connection with the local Catholic church in Athens which was key. Olympia helped us to navigate all the paperwork and communication with the priest and I always felt that Olympia took a lot of ownership to see that everything came together as we needed it. In addition to the wedding, Olympia was helpful in suggesting hotels as well as places to visit during the rest of our stay. We are so thankful to have found Olympia, she was everything we needed!

Questions couples ask

Before you write to them

Where do they arrange weddings?

On Santorini, Mykonos, Kea, Hydra, Chios, Skopelos, Skiathos and Spetses, and in Athens, Porto Heli, Nafplion and Monemvasia, with other locations on request.

What kinds of ceremony can they arrange?

Civil, symbolic, Orthodox and Catholic weddings, renewals of vows and elopements.

Do they help with the legal paperwork?

Yes. They guide couples through the documents needed, including apostilles and Greek translations. Couples are advised to begin gathering papers about three months before the wedding.

How is a wedding booked?

Couples get in touch, the team calls back, and the date, celebrant and ceremony are reserved on receipt of the security deposit. A proposal follows, and then a contract to be signed and returned within 15 days.

What is the security deposit?

It secures the date, celebrant and ceremony. It is not refundable and is deducted from the final invoice. The amount varies with the number of guests.

Is there a coordination fee?

Not for the preset civil, Orthodox or Catholic wedding and renewal-of-vows packages. For a custom wedding, fees are charged according to the number of people in the wedding party.

How can couples pay?

By bank wire transfer. Credit cards are not accepted at present.

Can they arrange live music?

Yes. In Santorini the choices include piano, saxophone, guitar, violin, harp, DJ and traditional Greek musicians. For other islands, entertainment is on request.
