Long Bay Beach Resort

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place when planning our trip to Tortola. It went beyond our expectations! Just from the moment we got picked up from the airport, we felt like we were part of the Long Bay family. The food was incredible along with the drinks served by Kimberly and Max at Johnny’s Bar. The views were amazing and it was one of our most relaxing trips that we’ve been on. We also got to take a private charter through the hotel with Captain Tommy and thoroughly enjoyed our time and exploration of some of the surrounding islands. I would highly recommend anyone traveling here to ensure to stay at least a few nights here.

We had a 9 day stay booked to celebrate our 30th anniversary with friends this month, and Long Bay Beach Resort did not disappoint!
Many months before our stay, I was in touch with the resort several times to arrange shuttles, spa treatments, dinners, boat charters, etc. KAREMA AND KENESTER were very helpful! I always got prompt email responses and answers to every question!
We were shuttled from the airport in a lovely SUV, and the driver even made a pit stop so we could grab some snacks and drinks for our room! Our rental car was scheduled to be delivered the next day. Which leads me to my next point, the hotel assisted in arranging my rental car drop off and pick up! It was delivered to reception! My man AKIL made everything very easy!!
The room we booked was the beach side villa, and it is everything that you will hope for! The hot tub, the view, the big patio, amazing shower, everything! We had a mishap with a water leak on our first night that resulted in a minor slip and fall. Not only did AKIL comp our first night's stay, but he moved us the very next morning when we were out on charter! That's service!!
Next, we chartered an all day speed boat through the hotel, and it was perfect! They hotel took us and picked us up. The captain, BUZZ and first mate KES were outstanding! The seas were pretty choppy, but they were cautious with us. We had several places that we wanted to go, and they took us to as many as they could under the conditions!
One of the days, I organized a spa morning in my room for the wives. OKIZI from the spa organized everything! They came right to our villa, set up the beds, and got to work on us! It was perfection!
Another star of this staff is KUNTA!! He was our main shuttle driver taking us to dinners and back. He was like our personal tour guide! He was so awesome, even getting us special treatment at the restaurants he dropped us at. He was always available when we texted or called, and always waiting just when we were ready to be picked up!! He was great!!
The staff here is what makes this place so special! The rooms are great, the view is amazing, but the staff shines!! The beach bar and restaurant are lovely, but we didn't spend much time there. If there is a low spot, it's that. Maybe we are a little more fast paced, but a 30 minute wait for drinks at the dinner table is too long for us, especially with a nearly empty bar and dining room floor. The pool could use a few nice touches, too. It's quite lovely, good looking and a nice swim up bar. However, there is no music and the homes/rooms around the pool are quite gloomy. It doesn't give "island vacation" vibes. However, service and food was good!

My husband and I spent a week at the resort and 2 nights on the "Pain Killer" catamaran with Capt. Glenroy Johnson.
The hotel is SO beautiful, every detail was thought out, and the service was amazing-even before we arrived we received emails from both Kennester and Karema helping with our booking and planning.

We stayed in an oceanfront suite and I highly recommend these rooms, we used our private/shaded patio every day.
The room was well air-conditioned, the bed was comfortable, and the entire resort was so quiet and peaceful- we were there in the off season and have heard it's pretty busy Nov-Mar.
We used all of the facilities- gym, pool, spa, yoga classes and found them all to be exceptional.
No issues with bugs at all, didn't use any of the bug spray we brought. Do recommend packing your own sunscreen to save some $$.
We enjoyed our meals at the two resort restaurants and poolside bar, we got great service and loved our bartenders Kim and Max!

Our two nights on the catamaran were so dreamy, Capt Glen was the best! He knew all the best spots for us to grab lunch, snorkel and anchor for the night. We felt so safe and well taken care of, not to mention the fresh-caught red snapper lunch, you're the man Capt. Glen!
