A Grand Canal hotel in San Marco with a garden, terraces and a Belle Epoque ballroom
The St. Regis Venice stands on the Grand Canal in San Marco with 124 rooms and 39 suites, ten event spaces including the Canaletto Ballroom and the Italianate Garden, and room for up to 150 wedding guests.
The St. Regis Venice occupies a run of palazzi on the Grand Canal in San Marco, directly across the water from Santa Maria della Salute, with San Giorgio Island and Punta della Dogana completing the view. A hotel has stood here for more than a century and a half, first as the Hotel Europa and Britannia, then as the Hotel Regina, and the present interiors set modern furniture and curated artwork, including a white chandelier by Ai Weiwei, against that long history. Guests arrive by water, and the shopping streets, the Fenice opera house and St Mark's Square are a short walk away.
The Canaletto Ballroom, a Belle Epoque room of lattice work, leaf ornament and mirrored panels, opens through its doors onto the Italianate Garden, so a dinner can move between the two. The Gran Salone, the Library and a series of terraces, among them the Ginori Terrace on the canal and the Santa Maria Suite terrace on the roof, give smaller parties the city's monuments as a backdrop. Wedding Specialists plan the day with florists, photographers and local partners, the kitchens prepare Venetian and Italian menus, and brand rituals such as champagne sabering and a Midnight Supper can be written into the evening. Rooms and suites are served by St. Regis Butlers, Gio's and Arts Bar look onto the water, and the Valmont Spa is on site.

The hotel has stood on this stretch of the Grand Canal for more than a century and a half, facing Santa Maria della Salute, with San Giorgio Island and Punta della Dogana in view. It traded as the Hotel Europa and Britannia and the Hotel Regina before becoming The St. Regis Venice, and the interiors now pair modern design and curated artwork with the building's history.

Weddings are hosted in the Canaletto Ballroom, with its sculpted ceiling, leaf ornament and polished terrazzo floor, and its doors open straight onto the Italianate Garden. The garden and ballroom together take 150 guests for a reception, and the rooftop garden terraces, the Ginori Terrace and the Santa Maria Suite terrace give smaller parties the canal and the city's monuments as a backdrop.

St. Regis Wedding Specialists choreograph the day and open doors to florists, photographers and planners in the city. Menus are prepared in house in a modern Venetian and Italian style, and the brand's rituals, from champagne sabering to a Midnight Supper, can be folded into the celebration. Guests stay in rooms and suites looked after by St. Regis Butlers.
