The Gritti Palace is a palazzo of 1475 on the Grand Canal, standing opposite the church of Santa Maria della Salute beside Campo Santa Maria del Giglio. It was once the residence of Doge Andrea Gritti and is now a Luxury Collection hotel with 82 rooms and suites, ten of them signature suites facing the canal. Inside, Murano chandeliers, Rubelli silks, gilded mirrors and antique furniture keep the Venetian character of the house.
Weddings are held in dedicated spaces within the working hotel. Ceremonies and receptions take place in the Salone Gritti or on the canal-side terrace of the Club del Doge Restaurant, for up to around 120 guests, with around 100 seated for a banquet. The Redentore rooftop terrace, 250 square metres in size, offers outdoor dining above the water, and Bar Longhi serves Bellinis and Champagne before dinner. Guests can arrive by water-taxi or gondola at the hotel's own landing. St Mark's Square is a short walk or gondola ride away, and a water-taxi connects the hotel with Marco Polo Airport.
