Villa Sylva is a private villa in the Kanoni area of Corfu, set among woodland on the coast with views across the Ionian Sea to Pontikonissi, Mouse Island. Corfu Town is about 10 minutes away. The villa has nine bedrooms, all ensuite, and sleeps 12 to 18 guests. It is let to one party at a time, so a wedding here takes over the whole property: the gardens, the terrace, the pool and the pier.
There are two things to know before going further. Villa Sylva gives no wedding guest capacity and no price, and couples bring their own caterer and suppliers. This article sets out what is known, and what to ask.

Where the villa is
Kanoni was once the island’s capital and main port. Villa Sylva stands in woodland there with the sea in front of it, secluded but close to town. The view takes in the Ionian Sea and Pontikonissi, the small island with a church on it. The villa is described only as being in the Kanoni area, with no street address, so ask for exact directions when you enquire.
Corfu Town is about 10 minutes by car. No airport distance is published, so ask for the transfer time from Corfu airport when you plan guest travel. The villa has covered parking.
The house and where guests sleep
The accommodation is divided into four parts, with nine bedrooms between them. Each bedroom is ensuite, and the villa has ten bathrooms in all.
The main house has two levels of bedrooms. The upper level holds two master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, next to an open-plan living and dining area with a fireplace, a study and the kitchen. The lower level has a reading room and four twin bedrooms, all ensuite, with direct access to the gardens. The entrance level has the hall and a guest bathroom.
The guest house has one double and one twin bedroom, both ensuite and each with a private terrace, together with a living room, a kitchenette and a balcony. The studio is a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and direct access to the pool, next to the gym.
The interiors have Moroccan marble floors, sliding glass doors that open onto the terraces and Mediterranean furnishings. The villa also lists air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, a private Greek cook and daily service.

Sleeping 12 to 18 matters for planning. A wedding party of that size can all stay on the property, which suits a small wedding or a family weekend. A larger guest list will need hotels or other villas nearby, and no number is given for how many guests it will host for a ceremony or dinner.
The film history
The villa appeared in the 1970 film The Executioner, with George Peppard and Joan Collins, and in the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only, with Roger Moore and Carole Bouquet.
How a wedding day can run
The spaces are laid out for a simple sequence. The ceremony is held in the garden, which also suits a small ceremony on the lawn. Drinks follow on the terrace overlooking the water, and dinner is served outdoors by the pool, with tables, lounge areas and lights. Because the villa is let to one party, the same guests move between all of these spaces without leaving the property, and the villa’s own staff look after the house with daily service. The extensive garden also gives room for cocktail hours and photographs before dinner.
Photographs can be taken in the gardens, on the terraces, by the pool and on the pier, and the monastery and the island church give two further locations a short distance away.
Gardens, terrace and pool
Weddings are held from April to November, with the gardens, the outdoor terrace and the pool area used for ceremonies, drinks and receptions. The villa gives approximate sizes: about 580 sq m of garden and about 1,075 sq m of pool area. These are the figures it gives for the wedding spaces. The pool itself is 200 sq m, with a pool house, and the main terrace is 70 sq m.
The grounds include manicured lawns and flowering shrubs, three garden areas and five al fresco dining areas, among them a pergola terrace and the pool surround. The gardens are laid out for a ceremony, cocktails and photographs, and the pool area suits an evening dinner, with tables, lounge seating and fairy lights or lanterns.

The buildings around the pool have classic architecture and ivy-covered walls, and the pool area is framed by mature trees. A photographer has stone steps, garden walls, terraces and the sea within one property.

The pier and the sea
The villa has a private 16 metre pier, a beach terrace and direct access to the sea. Guests who want to swim have the water at the foot of the property, and the pier gives a second place to gather for drinks or photographs.

The villa also has a gym, with a treadmill and a multi-exercise training machine, beside the studio.

Church ceremonies nearby
Couples who prefer a church ceremony have two historic options close to the villa. The Holy Monastery of Vlacherna was built in the 17th century and is joined to the mainland by a bridge flanked with fishing boats. It has an unusually shaped tiled roof and white walls, and it is a short walk with a view of Mouse Island.
The Church of Pantokrator stands on Pontikonissi, the island itself, which is several hundred years old and reached by a short boat ride. According to legend, the island is the ship of Ulysses, turned to stone by Poseidon after a storm. The Vlacherna monastery is in the background of photographs taken there.
Both churches are used for weddings, but the villa does not say who arranges the church booking, the paperwork or the transport. Ask what past couples have done, and whether the villa can help with the timing between the church and a reception at the house.
Caterers, suppliers and exclusive use
Villa Sylva is a private villa and the whole property is let to one party. Couples bring their own caterer and suppliers, so the villa is hired without a caterer, with food, drink, florals, music and planning arranged separately. The villa’s portfolio lists recent weddings that used a range of Corfu caterers, bars, florists and planners.
For a couple this has two consequences. The budget is built from the villa hire plus every supplier, rather than from a per-head package, and the choice of caterer is yours. A planner who knows Corfu, and who has already worked at the villa, saves time on logistics such as kitchen access, deliveries and where guests are seated for dinner.
Rates, capacity and what to ask
Villa Sylva gives no prices. The villa is let throughout the year for holidays as well as for weddings, and the rates page asks you to contact the villa directly for pricing and availability. The price is on enquiry. No maximum number of wedding guests is given for a ceremony, a seated dinner or a standing reception.
Ask for these in writing: the wedding hire fee and what it covers; the number of nights included; the maximum number of guests for a ceremony and for a seated dinner on the pool terrace; whether guests beyond the 12 to 18 who sleep there can attend, and until what time; the rules on music and finish times; the rain plan for a ceremony in the garden; the arrangements for caterers and suppliers on the day; and the cost of the cook and daily service.
Season and getting there
Weddings run from April to November. For a date at either end of that range, ask what the plan is if the weather turns, and how the terrace and the house can be used for dinner.
Weddings are offered from April to November. The villa is in the Kanoni area, 10 minutes from Corfu Town, with the monastery and Mouse Island close by. No airport distance, boat transfer information or street address is published, so ask for these when you enquire. The villa has also been nominated in the World Luxury Travel Awards for 2026.
Who it suits
Villa Sylva suits a couple who want a private villa for a wedding of modest size, with the party staying on the property and the freedom to bring their own caterer and team. The sea, the pool and the choice of a church ceremony close by give it more than one way to plan the day.
It is less suited to a couple who need a published capacity and a fixed price before they begin, or to a wedding with a large guest list that all need to stay on site. For those couples, the first conversation with the villa decides whether it works.
