This year has truly been the one for glamorous, high profile weddings. Spring started, of course, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who gave us a traditional fairytale wedding with all its regalia.
Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock, the former Olympic swimmer then followed, with an opulent catholic ceremony in Monacoin July. Whilst finally, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, completed the trio of early summer marriages with a relaxed and modern affair which took place in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
Whilst the royals were clearly taken with 2011 as being the year of romance, so too were celebrities of another sort, who had preparations in place for August and September.

Lynsey Dalglish wearing Caroline CastiglianoLynsey Dalglish, daughter of football legend, Kenny Dalglish, wed Welsh Rugby international, Nick Robinson in a ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral, which had been specially permitted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. They were joined by 200 guests including close friends Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall.
Whilst Lynsey chose a Castigliano dress with lace corset and romantic full skirt, her bridesmaids – sisters Lauren and Kelly and friend, Lucy, wore pale grey dresses all designed by Lucy herself. After the wedding, the couple flew to hotter climes for a luxury honeymoon in the Seychelles.
Chantal Leverton, the viola player in classical music group, Escala, married her half German, half Spanish boyfriend, Miguel Abel in a sunset ceremony on the beautiful GreekislandofMykonos. Chantal wore a strapless ivory Castigliano gown amongst her three bridesmaids, all fellow musicians in the group, who were dressed in pale apricot.
The one hundred guests of close friends and family were treated to a champagne reception and four course meal with a backdrop of the Mediterranean and Mykonos’ traditional white cubed houses. Miguel had romantically proposed to Chantal back in July during a dinner where he got the waiter to serve her a little chocolate box with a diamond engagement ring inside, before whisking her off for a weekend on the Amalfi Coast.
The glamorous locations didn’t stop there and after their pretty Mykonos wedding, the couple flew to California and Bora bora for a relaxing honeymoon.
