Daria Ovseenko and Daria Events and Weddings

Daria Events & Weddings was founded by Daria Ovseenko, a Lausanne-based planner with an MBA in Finance from EU Business School and a Wine & Spirit degree, with hands-on experience across more than 20 European wine regions. The studio began by bringing ballroom dancing events and debutante balls to Switzerland, moved into private celebrations, and since 2020 has worked exclusively on destination weddings.

Most couples are international and planning from abroad. The studio has coordinated more than 50 weddings and private events across Switzerland, France and northern Italy, and works with Swiss and French suppliers chosen for reliability and experience with overseas clients. The portfolio runs from the Lavaux vineyards and Lake Geneva to Gstaad, Villars, Champéry, Evian, Champagne and Bordeaux wine country.

The approach is structured and calm. The team takes over vendor coordination and documentation, keeps budgets and financial communication transparent, and stays on site until the last guest leaves. For couples in the United States, a separate agreement allows the studio to receive and distribute payments to local vendors, which reduces repeated bank charges.

Design is done in house. Florals are made by the studio and entertainment production is arranged alongside, so one creative team shapes the look of the day around the venue, from tablescapes and lighting to the guest experience. Couples are welcome to bring their own vendors, provided the studio is involved in the planning.

The work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, French Wedding Style, Rock My Wedding, Vogue France and Condé Nast titles. A wedding coordinated at Château Gassies in Bordeaux was published by Vogue France, and the studio is listed as a Recommended Wedding Planner by Switzerland Tourism.

From the first message to the day itself

  1. 01Initial consultation

    A free first meeting, in person or by video, to discuss your vision, style and the moments that matter most. Bring four starting points: country or region, date or season, number of guests and an approximate budget.

  2. 02Planning and preparations

    Region, budget, guest count and date are defined first. The studio then scouts and confirms the venue, which shapes the atmosphere, logistics and budget for every decision that follows.

  3. 03Booking vendors

    With the venue secured, the key vendors are booked: photography and videography, hair and make-up, catering and live music, each chosen to suit the style you want.

  4. 04Bringing the vision to life

    Decoration, additional vendors, the design concept, detailed timeline, entertainment and guest experience are refined layer by layer. All contracts, budgets, guest lists and seating plans are kept in a shared folder.

  5. 05The wedding day

    The team oversees the day on site, from set-up to the last guest leaving, so you can be present rather than managing a schedule.

In a short simple sentence, Daria made mine and my husband's wedding day dreams come true. I didn't expect to have such a wonderful experience with a wedding planner, in truth. I know they are very busy people who juggle a lot so I didn't expect much attention, but that is the exact opposite of Daria. She always made sure that she could work with our schedules for our sync ups, always made sure we felt heard and were getting exactly what we wanted within our budget! She never was pushy for ideas or suggestions, always very open and kind hearted about everything. I truly don't know what we would've done without her and we couldn't imagine having a different wedding planner than her. Where does Daria Events & Weddings work?

Switzerland, France and northern Italy. The studio is based in Lausanne and has planned weddings in Lavaux, Gstaad, Villars, Champéry, Evian, Champagne and Bordeaux.

How much should we budget?

The studio recommends approximately 1,200 to 1,600 EUR/CHF per guest for a one-day wedding and 1,600 to 2,000 EUR/CHF per guest for a multi-day wedding, covering venue, catering, beverages, staffing, standard production and core vendor services. The planning fee is on request.

How far ahead should we book?

A minimum of 9 to 12 months, and 14 to 18 months for Alpine venues in peak season. The studio has planned a full wedding in one month.

Which languages does the team speak?

English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese.

Can we choose our own vendors?

Yes, as long as the studio is involved in communication and planning. The studio can also recommend its in-house decoration and floral services and its network of trusted vendors.

Do you accept credit cards?

No. For international couples, alternative payment options can be arranged to reduce bank transfer fees, and by separate agreement the studio can pay local vendors on your behalf.

Can we meet first?

Yes. The first meeting is free of charge, in person or by video call, once you have an approximate region, date, guest count and budget.

What is the difference between a wedding planner and a venue coordinator?

A venue coordinator represents the venue. A planner works exclusively for the couple and manages the whole event, on site and remotely.
