Over Yonder Cay is a private island in the Exuma Chain of the southern Bahamas, about 265 miles southeast of Florida. It was once a remote fishing outpost and is now an eco-friendly retreat for parties of up to 30 guests. Four villas, Meridian House, West Sands, East Cove and South Point, are set around the island, each with an infinity pool, a hot tub or jacuzzi, a private beach and places to dine outdoors.
The island is rented as a whole to one party at a time, so a wedding takes place with the island to itself. The events team works with couples on the day, the chefs plan the menus around local seafood, and the spa and service teams look after guests. The Beach Club, beside a large saltwater infinity pool, becomes a party space in the evening, with a DJ station, a dance floor and a bar. Guests can also play the nine-hole golf course, use the floodlit tennis court, take out a boat or waverunner, or follow the wildlife trail on foot or by bicycle. Power comes from three wind turbines and a solar field.
