Chabil Mar Resort takes its name from the Maya words for "beautiful sea". It is a boutique beachfront resort in Placencia, on the Caribbean coast of Belize, set among lush tropical gardens with a private beach and a private pier. Accommodation is in one and two-bedroom villas, each individually decorated with a full kitchen, air conditioning and a furnished terrace, some with direct seafront positions.
Ceremonies are held on the pier over the water or on the sand, with music, bouquets and boutonnieres part of the wedding package. Receptions can be candlelit and held outdoors, catered in house. The resort can be reserved exclusively for a couple, their family and guests, and an on-site wedding planner and concierge manage the marriage paperwork and local arrangements. Two infinity pools, spa services, bicycles and kayaks are on hand, and tours to the reef, islands, jungle and Maya temples can be arranged for guests who want to explore beyond the resort.

The wedding package brings together the planner, the decorated ceremony site, bouquet, cake, the marriage licence and certificate, a private dinner on the pier and two hours of photography. Video, hair, music, a rehearsal dinner, a reception buffet or sit-down dinner, island parties and a concierge for excursions can be added.
Chabil Mar is a guest-exclusive resort, so celebrations are for the couple, their families and their guests, and there is no additional site fee. The couple and a share of their guests stay at the resort, with villa rates added to the package.

Chabil Mar sits on the Placencia Peninsula on the Caribbean coast of Belize, a narrow strip of sand between the sea and the lagoon at the peninsula's southern end. It is about a mile from Placencia's own airport and a short hop from Belize City, and within reach of the barrier reef, the cayes and the rainforest, so guests reach a private beach and find plenty to explore around the wedding.
