Its overwater villas are laid out in a ring around the lagoon, with beach villas set in sandy coves along the island. Every villa has water views, an infinity pool and a sundeck, and each is looked after by a dedicated island butler, called an Aris Meeha. At the top of the range is The Ritz-Carlton Estate, a private four-bedroom beach residence with its own kitchen and pool.
The resort hosts pre-wedding and post-wedding celebrations and vow renewals, arranged with its wedding team on overwater decks, in gardens and on quiet beaches. Seven restaurants and bars cover Southern Italian, Cantonese, Japanese, Mediterranean and Levantine cooking, and tables can be set privately under a banyan tree, on the beach or on a sandbank. Days are marked by island customs: a conch shell blown on arrival, and Bodu Beru drumming at sunset. An overwater spa, tennis, a dive centre and a marine biology programme fill the days between events, and Fari Marina Village, with its boutiques, art installation and further restaurants, is close by.
