Georgian and Victorian lakeside mansion in 17 acres on Windermere, Lake District, Cumbria
Storrs Hall is a Georgian and Victorian mansion on the shore of Windermere, with 17 acres of private grounds, 30 bedrooms in the main house and civil ceremony spaces indoors and out.
Storrs Hall is a Georgian and Victorian mansion on the shore of Windermere, England's largest lake, inside the Lake District National Park and its World Heritage landscape. Seventeen acres of private grounds run down to the water, and the gracefully proportioned rooms of the main house include spaces licensed for civil ceremonies, with three further rooms set for wedding dining.
Weddings can be held on an exclusive-use basis, as smaller gatherings, or as elopements for two. Outdoor ceremonies take place in the gazebo on the lawns above the lake, and the hall's coloured glass rotunda, sweeping staircase and lake views give plenty of settings for photographs. Beside the 30 bedrooms in the main house, guests can stay in the Boat House or one of six Lakeside Suites. The M6 at junction 36 is 30 minutes away by road, and there is space for a helicopter to land.
