About Non Such Mansion

Nonsuch Mansion is a Tudor Gothic house in Nonsuch Park, Cheam, licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 120 guests and available for exclusive hire.

Nonsuch Mansion is a Tudor Gothic house on the eastern side of Nonsuch Park in Cheam, close to the site of Henry VIII's Nonsuch Palace. The architect Jeffry Wyatville rebuilt key parts of it between 1802 and 1806 for Samuel Farmer, with a northern front inspired by the original palace. The house sits in 300 acres of parkland and gardens, and the Formal Lawns are used for the drinks reception.

The Orchid Room is the largest space, with arch-topped bay windows, golden chandeliers, stained glass and a grand fireplace, and tall white shutter doors allow it to be divided. The Rose Room, with its Tudor rose ceiling and medieval-style fireplace, takes the drinks reception in poor weather and the dancing later in the day. The Library, with its dark oak shutters and Fornasetti wallpaper, serves as a bar or breakout room, and a first floor Dressing Room gives the bridal party somewhere to prepare. The house is licensed for civil ceremonies and can be hired for a single wedding at a time. Catering is by Bovingdons Catering, working to seasonal menus, and a dedicated planner works with each couple. A second floor apartment with boutique bedrooms lets the wedding party stay after the evening ends.

Review

We recently had our wedding reception at Nonsuch Mansion, and it is honestly one of the best decisions we have made, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect venue. Not only is the venue itself gorgeous, nestled in a lovely park, the lay out of the rooms flows so well and the option to close off certain areas gives you so much control over how you want your day to look. Most importantly, the team at Nonsuch have been incredible from day one. We worked closely with Holly from the start who has been one of the kindest, most patient, flexible and accommodating people we have dealt with throughout the wedding planning process. The team truly are dedicated to helping you execute your perfect day, no matter how weird and wonderful it might be. Had it not been for the brilliant cooperation from Holly, Chloe, Vitalie and the Nonsuch team, our fusion wedding vision would never have been possible. The bridal suite was the perfect place for us to get ready and was able to accommodate quite a large group, with ‘the snug’ being downstairs which our groomsmen used to get ready. This meant our photographer could easily go between both rooms without bride and groom accidentally running into each other. The park grounds are also beautiful and if you are lucky enough to not have rain, there are some lovely photo spots. If you are considering Nonsuch as your venue, we couldn’t recommend it enough. We are still getting compliments weeks later.
