The Hurlingham Club
Private members' club of 1869 on the Thames at Fulham, with a domed glasshouse for weddings
The Hurlingham Club is a private members' club on the bend of the Thames at Fulham whose event spaces, including the domed glasshouse of Palm Court, are open to couples who are not members.
The Hurlingham Club is a private members' club laid out in 1869 on the bend of the Thames at Fulham, with a white clubhouse standing in forty-two acres about three miles from Knightsbridge. Its event spaces, run as Hurlingham Events, are open to members and non-members alike. Couples hire those spaces rather than the wider grounds, which remain reserved for members. The club has long hosted croquet, tennis and polo, and it drew up the first formal rules of modern polo in the 1870s.
Palm Court is a glasshouse of 43.25 by 10.75 metres beneath a 43-metre dome, licensed for civil and religious ceremonies and seating up to 280. The Sunken Garden, a walled parterre, is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150. Drinks are served on the Terrace, and seated dinners and dance evenings take place in Palm Court or the Broomhouse Suite. Catering is in-house and dry hire is not offered. The wedding is licensed for up to 250 guests, with late licences to 1am midweek and 2am at weekends.

A club on the bend of the Thames
The Hurlingham Club was laid out in 1869 at Fulham, with a white clubhouse set behind gates in forty-two acres. It began as a live pigeon shooting ground and grew into a centre of croquet, tennis and polo, and it drew up the first formal rules of modern polo in the 1870s. It hosted Olympic polo at the 1908 London Games.

Palm Court under the dome
Palm Court is a glasshouse beneath a barrel-vaulted dome, so ceremonies are held in daylight even in winter. It seats up to 280 and is licensed for civil and religious services. At night the same glass roof lights the round tables for dinner and dancing.

The Sunken Garden and Terrace
Outdoors, the Sunken Garden is a formal parterre with a water feature at its centre, licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests. Drinks follow on the Terrace, and the Rose Walk is set aside for photographs. The Broomhouse Suite offers a second room for seated dinners and dinner-dances.

Where are weddings held?

Palm Court seats up to 280 for a ceremony and the Sunken Garden holds up to 150. The wedding itself is licensed for up to 250 guests, and dinner capacity is available on enquiry.
Can we have a religious ceremony?
Yes. Palm Court is licensed for both civil and religious ceremonies, while the Sunken Garden is licensed for civil ceremonies only.
Can we use our own caterer?
No. Catering is in-house under Head Chef Andrew Grahame and dry hire is not offered. Corkage applies to wine, and food trucks are permitted.

No. The spaces are hired for the day and evening, and guests stay at hotels in Fulham, Chelsea and Putney, a short distance from the gates.
How late can the celebration run?
Late licences run to 1am from Monday to Thursday, 2am on Friday and Saturday, and midnight on Sunday.
