About Huntsham Court

Huntsham Court is a Victorian baronial country house on the Devon and Somerset border, hired exclusively for weddings of up to 130 guests, with 42 bedrooms that sleep up to 100.

Huntsham Court is a Victorian baronial country house on the Devon and Somerset border, in rolling countryside on the edge of Exmoor National Park. It was built in 1868 to a design by the architect Benjamin Ferrey and stands in five acres of gardens with a tennis court and croquet lawn. Junction 27 of the M5 is twelve minutes away, Tiverton Parkway station is a twelve minute drive with a two hour express to London, and helicopters can land on site. Forty two bedrooms, from four poster rooms to vaulted attic suites, sleep up to 100 guests, and a village church stands on the drive.

The house is hired exclusively, so the wedding party lives together for the weekend. Ceremonies take place in any of five reception rooms, among them the Great Hall and the Library, or in garden settings that include the Victorian Dovecote and the space beneath 300 year old chestnut trees, each seating 130. Banqueting spaces hold groups of 10 to 130. There is no corkage and no hidden fee, guests may bring their own caterers or use the house's network, and a banqueting set for 130 and five hours of an event manager's time are included.

A house built for a bride

Huntsham Court was commissioned in 1868 by Charles Troyte as a home for his young wife, Katherine Walrond, and designed by the Victorian architect Benjamin Ferrey. It sits in rolling Devon countryside on the borders of Exmoor National Park, with five acres of gardens, and is under two hours by train from London.
