The 5 Star Weddings visibility check

Last updated 21 October 2026.

What this is

The 5 Star Weddings Directory offers its members a Visibility Intelligence report. To prepare it, our system reads the member’s own public website, using the address on their listing. If you have seen “5StarWeddingDirectory-VisibilityCheck” in your server logs, this is who we are.

The report assesses the technical foundations and publicly available information that may help search engines and AI assistants discover, understand and reference a member’s website. It does not, by itself, measure search rankings or whether AI assistants actually recommend the business.

Which pages it checks

  • Only the public website of one of our members: the address on their listing, their home page, and up to three more public pages that the same site links to (for example a weddings page or a contact page).
  • Their robots.txt and sitemap, and whether an llms.txt file exists.
  • Secure addresses (https) only. It sends no cookies, signs in nowhere, submits no forms and does not run scripts.
  • It follows the robots exclusion standard (RFC 9309). If your robots.txt asks us not to read a page, we do not read it, and if it cannot be read, we read nothing else.

What it collects

The checker does not intentionally collect or retain personal information beyond what is necessary to conduct the assessment. It does not store complete page text or images. Limited technical records and assessment findings are retained to support reporting and verification.

  • The address of each page read, the time, the response code and a fingerprint (a short code) of the page, so the same reading can be shown later.
  • Facts extracted from the pages, such as the title and meta description, the canonical link, Open Graph tags, the number of headings and of images with descriptions, the schema.org markup, links to the business’s profiles, and whether a contact route, a price, a guest number or an FAQ appears.
  • Phone numbers are kept only in masked form, for example ******678.

Results and human review

The check is automated, so a result can occasionally be wrong or incomplete, for example if a page did not answer on the day. A check that could not be completed is recorded as “not checked” and is never counted against a site. Our team reviews every report before a member sees it, and members can ask us to correct anything.

How often, and limits

We normally perform one check when preparing a quarterly report. To prevent excessive requests, automated checks are limited to one per website within any 24-hour period; our team may run an additional check at a member’s request or after a correction, within the same request limits. Each check makes no more than 12 requests, with at least one second between requests. It reads only the websites of our own members, and only to report back to that member.

Corrections and opting out

  • A member can switch the website check off at any time in their portal (Visibility, Website check). That stops all new checks of that website.
  • To ask for a correction, or to stop the check for your site, email [email protected].
  • You can also block it yourself.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt and the check will not read your pages:

User-agent: 5StarWeddingDirectory-VisibilityCheck
Disallow: /

Your server can also block the user agent at any time.

User agent

The check identifies itself with exactly this user agent:

5StarWeddingDirectory-VisibilityCheck/1.0 (+https://5starweddingdirectory.com/visibility-check/)
