Does the east coast suit guests who dislike beach holidays?
Yes. The mountains, wadi walks, dhow charters and the fort fill the days with a more active programme than a Palm Jumeirah weekend.
How does the sea compare with the Gulf coast?
The Gulf of Oman is clearer, with better visibility for snorkelling and diving. The Snoopy Island reefs can be reached by a short swim or by kayak, and turtles and reef sharks have been recorded there.
What is Snoopy Island?
A small rocky outcrop just off the promontory resort's beach, named for its profile. The hotel hires out equipment and arranges guided reef introductions, and turtles are often seen.
Can a couple be legally married in Fujairah?
Non-Muslim foreign nationals can marry legally in the UAE through licensed civil ceremony providers. Many couples complete the legal marriage in the UK and treat the Fujairah ceremony as the celebration.
