The Kayon Jungle Resort is a 38-key jungle resort in the village of Bresela, near Ubud, with a bamboo sky chapel for ceremonies above the valley.
The Kayon Jungle Resort stands in Bresela, a traditional Balinese village in Payangan, on a slope above the Oos River valley. About 25 minutes from the centre of Ubud, it has 38 suites and private pool villas that step down the hillside in the manner of the island's rice terraces. A three-tier swimming pool follows the same curves, and the design draws on the nearby Tegallalang terraces. The character is quiet and romantic, with an eco-conscious approach, and children under 15 are not admitted.
Weddings are held at the Puspaka Sky Wedding Chapel, a bamboo pavilion raised above the valley. Its name comes from the Ramayana, where Puspaka is the celestial chariot that carried Prince Rama and Shinta to safety. Ceremonies are led by an English-speaking celebrant, with a commemorative certificate that is not legally binding. Dinner can follow at the chapel, in a hut at the Sky Lounge, or at the Canyon Jetty Restaurant, where four tables sit in huts above the river. Guests also have Kepitu Restaurant, the Wanna Jungle Pool and Bar across three levels, the Serayu Wellness spa, a rooftop yoga pavilion and an in-villa cinema evening. Helicopter transfers from the airport take about 30 minutes.

A jungle resort above the Oos River
