La Plage Resort stands directly on the sand at Isola Bella, inside the nature reserve on the coast below Taormina in Sicily. The little island lies just offshore, linked to the beach by a thin ribbon of sand, and the terraces, the beach club and most of the rooms face it across the turquoise Ionian bay. The resort belongs to the Ragosta Hotels collection.
Ceremonies take place on the sea-view terrace or on the beach itself, for up to around 200 guests. Receptions can move into the glass-walled Scilla hall, which seats up to around 120, or out onto the terraces, or onto the sand, where the beach club sets long tables and lanterns. The Idda restaurant cooks Sicilian and Mediterranean menus built on seafood and island produce. With 77 rooms and suites, many with sea views and private jacuzzis, plus the Thalea spa, the wedding party can stay together on the shore. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is about an hour away.
