A Martinique agency with corporate roots
Myl’Evasions was created in 2008 in Martinique and is directed by Mylène Edmond. The office is in Fort-de-France, on the second floor of the Le Trident shopping centre in Montgerald. The agency plans weddings, beach ceremonies and private celebrations in Martinique and Guadeloupe for couples from the Caribbean, the Americas and Europe.

It began with corporate work, including large installations and seminars abroad, and moved to private celebrations and family events afterwards. The team is made up of project managers and coordinators who previously worked in international tourism, and together they have handled more than 150 projects.
Where the weddings take place
Myl’Evasions works on the beach, in a period villa, in a restaurant with a sea view and in a tropical garden, and the same service is available in Guadeloupe. Styles run from creole chic to white-themed beach celebrations and themed ceremonies. The agency designs and coordinates the whole event, from the ceremony and reception to a single planning consultation, and calls on a network of local vendors that includes caterers, florists, musicians and photographers.

Couples who want a different island can also be accommodated. The team arranges commitment ceremonies and weddings in Saint Lucia, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas and Anguilla.
From the first call to the day itself
A coordinator begins with a telephone interview to learn what the couple want, which island they have in mind and the style of day they are picturing. The agency then prepares a project proposal, either in its Charme or Prestige range or as a made-to-measure wedding, with advice on the setting and the design, and the final fee depends on the brief. Once the design is agreed, the team brings in its vendors and keeps the couple informed as the preparation advances. On the day, the team is present to coordinate the ceremony and the reception and to resolve any last-minute issues.

The destination packages
Two packages are built for couples travelling to the islands. Tropical Emotions is set in Martinique and Idyllic Escape in Guadeloupe, and each includes a private villa for 10 guests for seven days. The ceremony in each is a beach commitment ceremony for 15 to 20 guests, with ceremony decoration, an officiant, a bridal bouquet, a wedding cake, a DJ and photography, and a creole dinner with a private chef is part of the stay.

The commitment ceremony comes with a certificate that is not an official marriage document. Couples who want a legal wedding are offered official ceremonies on other Caribbean islands. Prices for the packages are given on enquiry. Guests who need somewhere to stay can use the agency’s concierge service, which recommends villas in Martinique, including Villa Macabou, Palm Villas, Villa Georgia and Villa Apolline.
Beyond weddings
The agency also organises family celebrations and private events, as well as corporate events, seminars and galas in Martinique and Guadeloupe, and offers event consulting. That corporate side is where the company started. A couple can ask for a full wedding, a made-to-measure day, a consultation or only coordination on the day.
