About The Vanderbilt Estate

The Vanderbilt Estate is a private Georgian mansion set in seven gardens across 12 acres in Thalang, Phuket, reserved exclusively for one wedding party at a time.

The Vanderbilt Estate is a private Georgian mansion on a hilltop in Thalang, Phuket, with views across the surrounding mountains. It was designed with a London architect as a Georgian house suited to life in the tropics, and construction began in 2015 and took eight years. Inside, antique teak floors, terracotta tiles and natural linens frame an art collection assembled over more than sixty years, including antiquities dating back to the first century BC. The Dining Room is lined with hand-painted Qing Dynasty wallpaper about 350 years old, and the Main Hall rises to a nine-metre cupola.

Around the house, twelve acres are laid out as seven gardens. A Grand Lawn of about 2,500 square metres is the centre of the grounds, with a Formal Garden, pavilion and amphitheatre to one side, a park with an ornamental pond and swans, a Japanese garden with a koi pond and a Buddha lawn inspired by Sukhothai Historical Park. The pool is finished in volcanic lava tiles. A 300-square-metre verandah looks over the gardens and the lake. Weddings follow a single arc across the grounds, from pre-wedding photography and cocktails on the verandahs, to a ceremony beneath the pavilion or elsewhere in the gardens, and dinner under the stars or in a marquee. The estate is a private residence, so no other event or guest shares the grounds during a wedding.

The 250,000-litre pool is finished in natural volcanic lava tiles.

An absolutely amazing experience. The attention to detail was second to none. The staff were all excellent and eager to help with any queries any of us had no mater how trivial or complicated they were. The cinema room was a pure escape whilst the swimming pool and grounds ensured you could escape and be at one with nature whenever you wanted.

If one is looking for a true sanctuary I would strongly urge you to get in touch with the team as you will not be disappointed. This matches anything I have seen globally.

Review

The Vanderbilt Estate is hands down one of the most stunning wedding venues I’ve ever had the pleasure of working at. Nestled in the lush hills of Phuket, the estate combines classical elegance with tropical beauty in a way that feels almost surreal. The gardens, the architecture, the mountain views—every detail is picture-perfect.

The team on-site is incredibly professional and kind, making sure every moment runs smoothly and with style. As a wedding filmmaker, I always keep an eye out for locations that offer both atmosphere and aesthetic versatility—and this venue checks every box.

For couples dreaming of a luxurious destination wedding in Thailand, this place is truly special. A huge thank you to the Vanderbilt team for creating such an inspiring and welcoming space!
