A wedding cake studio in Pershore

Danielle’s Cakes Pershore is a wedding cake studio in Pershore, Worcestershire, run by Danielle Lyons, who designs, bakes and decorates every cake herself. She works for couples across Worcestershire and the Cotswolds, and is involved from the first conversation to the moment the cake is set in place at the wedding.

Design and sugar flowers

The style is timeless and carefully detailed. Danielle works on the shape, proportions, texture and movement of a cake as well as its colours and flowers, and the designs range from understated and elegant to more intricate.

Handcrafted sugar flowers are a favourite part of the work. Each bloom is made by hand, from single flowers to larger arrangements, and is often inspired by the real flowers in the couple’s own bouquet. Danielle then adjusts the scale, colour, texture and placement to suit the cake and the setting it will sit in. It is time-consuming work, and it is where much of the detail on a cake comes from.

Flavour

Danielle bakes with quality, fresh ingredients and goes back to the source of a flavour wherever she can, using real ingredients rather than artificial flavourings. She offers familiar favourites and more indulgent combinations, and the photographs include a sponge layered with berries and white chocolate and a slice of chocolate sponge.

From first conversation to wedding day

An enquiry leads to a relaxed conversation online or by phone about the wedding, the venue, guest numbers and the style the couple have in mind. It is also a chance for both sides to decide whether they suit each other.

A booking fee of £150 secures the date in the studio diary. Danielle takes on a maximum of one wedding a week, so that each cake has her full attention from design to set-up.

The consultation comes closer to the wedding, once the venue and the main styling details are confirmed. Couples talk through the cake itself, from its shape and proportions to the finishes, flowers and presentation, along with flavours and how the cake works alongside the rest of the wedding. Nobody needs to arrive with a finished idea. Danielle then prepares a design proposal and quotation that sets out the structure, proportions, finishes, flowers, textures and colours. Prices are quoted for each cake.

As the day approaches she confirms the delivery time and the placement of the cake with the couple, and liaises with the venue and, where appropriate, the florist or planner. On the wedding day she delivers and sets up the cake herself.

Recognition and the couples she has worked for

Danielle’s work has been recognised by The Wedding Industry Awards and at Cake International, where she took part in 2025. She says she enters competitions to push herself creatively and keep improving her craft, rather than to collect awards.

Couples who have written about her describe the most incredible cakes they had seen and tasted, a perfect cake that tasted even better, brilliant communication throughout, and a process made easy. One couple thought the finished cake too beautiful to cut.
