Arrive by water
Guests reach The Naka Island by speedboat from the resort’s lobby lounge. A short crossing brings them to Naka Yai Island in the Andaman Sea, looking across Phang Nga Bay.
The island lies close to Phuket International Airport, and the resort’s jetty is where every guest comes ashore.
Villas in the trees
The resort is built as a collection of tropical-style pool villas rather than a single block. Each has an open-air bathroom, a plunge pool and a covered sala to sit in, set among gardens, beaches and mangroves. The one-bedroom villas face the garden, the sea or the beach itself, and the Royal Horizon Pool Villa stands apart from them all.
Marrying on the beach lawn
The beach lawn runs down to the sand and faces the sea. Together, the lawn and the beach seat up to 80 guests for a dinner, and weddings are held on the lawn and on the beach itself.
For a reception on foot, the Multi-Purpose Sala, a newly renovated open-air pavilion with a Thai-inspired roof, takes about 100 standing or 60 at a banquet. Wedding specialists guide couples through the planning and can create a package around the day.
The villa above the bay
The Royal Horizon Pool Villa is a gated, two-bedroom villa of 1,600 square metres, with an infinity pool above the sea and a view over Phang Nga Bay. It is used for weddings and secluded receptions, and can be taken for exclusive use by arrangement. Its terrace holds a reception of about 80.
At the table
The resort’s culinary team prepares the wedding menus. Four places to eat sit along the beachfront: Veranda for all-day international dishes, Aiyara for Royal Southern Thai cuisine, Rum Chapel for Mediterranean plates, and Zbar for cocktails and Asian tapas at sunset. Private dinners are served on a beach sala, with the table set beside the sea.
The days around the wedding
Spa Naka by HARNN has eight treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room and an ice room, and there is a 24-hour fitness centre, pools and a kids club. Guests can paddle through the mangroves of Phang Nga Bay by kayak, try paddle boarding, or take a Thai cooking or Muay Thai lesson.
