Stereo Star Band

Stereo Star Band is a live music company for weddings, corporate events and private functions, based in Madrid. The band is customisable from 3 to 14 musicians, so a couple can choose a small jazz trio for a ceremony or a full line-up with horns and two singers for the reception.

The most common set-up is guitar, bass, piano, drums and lead singers, with brass and other instruments added on top. The repertoire runs from current chart songs and rock to Motown, funk, soul, jazz and classical pieces, and the band learns a new song for a couple who give enough notice.

The band plays the whole day if wanted: classical music for the ceremony, a one-hour drinks reception set, and an evening of dancing with a DJ set between band sets. It brings its own sound system and can provide a microphone for speeches and an MC.

Each couple works with a producer and a shared online planning page where the schedule, song requests, dance moments and the style of dress are recorded. The band works from Madrid and plays across Spain, including Barcelona, Malaga, Marbella, Valencia, Ibiza and Murcia, and travels for events abroad.

From the first message to the day itself

    The couple send their date, venue and the services they want through the enquiry form and receive a quote for the line-up they choose.

  2. 02See the band live

    The band holds live showcases in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Murcia, so couples can hear it before booking, and a free demo pack can be requested.

  3. 03Booking

    A 20 per cent payment secures the date. The balance is due two weeks before the event.

  4. 04Online planning page

    A producer guides the couple through a shared planning page for the timeline, favourite and disliked songs, special dances and what the band should wear.

  5. 05Final details

    Two weeks before the wedding the team goes through the day with the couple, including the running order and the pronunciation of names for the MC.

  6. 06The performance

    The band arrives with its own sound equipment, plays the agreed sets and runs the music through the night.

David y su equipo fueron desde un inicio el proveedor más fácil. Respuesta rápida a todas las dudas iniciales, facilidad y flexibilidad con los cambios (restricciones de horario etc). Respecto a la música, ¡qué decir! Dieron un valor añadido a la celebración, haciéndola inigualable. Comparado con otras bandas que he visto, ellos fueron sobresalientes. La gente se vino arriba con su actitud y buen rollo. ¡Geniales!

Si hubiese más estrellas las pondría :). El pasado sábado contamos en nuestra boda con Stereo Star Band y fue espectacular. No hubo invitado que no dijese la pedazo de banda que eran. Se adaptaron a nuestro estilo, animaron a la gente e incluso ayudaron a los invitados con alguna sorpresa. Además de buenos músicos son gente majísima. Sin palabras. Y es que la música en directo le da un toque especial a cualquier evento. Deseando volver a contar con ellos!

I can’t recommend Stereo Star Band enough! My husband and I booked them for our wedding and everything was fantastic! Since we were having a bilingual wedding with guests from the United States and Spain, I wanted to find a band that performed popular songs in both English and Spanish. Their set list was extensive and we got to choose songs we wanted. Alba was extremely professional and organized everything with the venue, including the extensive paperwork they required for each musician and all the details leading up to the wedding day. We didn’t have to worry about anything. All of our guests were really surprised when they started playing during the reception and impressed with their performance! Thank you again for making our wedding so unforgettable!

We would love to do it all again

Thanks so much to David and all the crew in STEREO STAR BAND for the most amazing music at our wedding. We chose a 7 piece band as we love a brass section and did not regret for a second spending the extra money on this choice. It was worth every penny. Our guests enjoy a good party and absolutely loved them never leaving the dance floor. Even my 90 year old granny was busting her moves, doing the limbo with her walking stick! Singers were fantastic, real performers who worked the crowd as were the other musicians in the band. Being musicians ourselves the band and setlist for our wedding was so important and we can not express our gratitude enough. David went out of his way to facilitate all our requests including a unique take on our first dance and when DJing at the end of night managed to find some obscure songs for us to ensure the night ended on the high we wanted. Before you write to them

How much does a wedding band cost?

Evening reception music starts from £1,890, drinks reception music from £450 and ceremony music from £290. Prices vary by about £200 depending on location, and a formal quote is given for each event.

Where does Stereo Star Band play?

The band is based in Madrid and performs throughout Spain, including Barcelona, Malaga, Marbella, Valencia, Ibiza and Murcia. It also travels abroad.

How many musicians are in the band?

The band is customisable from 3 to 14 musicians. The usual set-up is guitar, bass, piano, drums and lead singers, with horns and other instruments added on request.

How long does the band play?

A typical quote covers up to five hours, with three 45-minute sets and breaks, or four 45-minute sets with short DJ sets in between. Extra time can be added for an additional charge.

Does the band travel for weddings outside its base?

Yes. Travel within an hour is included in the basic package. Beyond that there is an extra charge, and the couple cover transport and accommodation for the band.

Can the band play the ceremony and the drinks reception as well as the party?

Yes. It can provide classical music for the ceremony, a jazz set for the drinks reception and a dance band for the evening.

How is the booking paid?

A 20 per cent payment secures the date and the remaining amount is due two weeks before the event.

Does the band need a stage?

No stage is required, but it needs power, a covered space and a flat, hard, dry surface. If there is a stage it should be at least 2 by 4 metres for a 3 to 4 piece band, 4 by 5.5 metres for 5 to 8 pieces and 5 by 7 metres for 9 to 14 pieces.
