Château Saint Georges is a nineteenth-century château in a three-hectare park above Grasse, with a Temple of Love for ceremonies and a view across the valley towards Cannes.
Château Saint Georges is a nineteenth-century château standing in a three-hectare park above Grasse, on the hills behind the French Riviera. It was built by a perfumer and is nicknamed Le Petit Versailles of the Côte d'Azur. Gilded panelling, marble, inlaid parquet and chandeliers fill the interior, while the grounds hold old olive trees, cypress hedges, Aleppo pines, lavender rows and a rose garden. Grasse railway station is five minutes away, and Cannes is about thirty minutes by road.
Weddings use the château on an exclusive-use basis with a minimum stay of two nights. Ceremonies take place at the Temple of Love, a domed pavilion on the lawn, or on the panoramic terrace, with the Salon Napoleon and Salon Bleu as indoor alternatives. Receptions run to about a hundred guests outdoors and sixty indoors, with a marquee possible for larger parties. Couples and guests stay in a master suite, two suites and two studios, and the indoor swimming pool hall with its jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna doubles as a space for evening parties. Menus are prepared by approved chefs and caterers.
