Le Petit Versailles above Grasse
Château Saint Georges is a nineteenth-century château standing in a three-hectare park above Grasse, on the hills behind the French Riviera. It was built by a perfumer and is nicknamed Le Petit Versailles of the Côte d’Azur. Gilded panelling, marble, inlaid parquet and chandeliers fill the interior, while the grounds hold old olive trees, cypress hedges, Aleppo pines, lavender rows and a rose garden.

The Temple of Love
Ceremonies take place at the Temple of Love, a domed pavilion on the lawn, or on the panoramic terrace, with the Salon Napoleon and Salon Bleu as indoor alternatives.

Dinner in the gilded salons
Receptions run to about a hundred guests outdoors and sixty indoors, with a marquee possible for larger parties. The Salon Napoleon, two connected rooms of 98 square metres, opens onto the garden through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Staying and getting there
Weddings use the château on an exclusive-use basis with a minimum stay of two nights. An indoor swimming pool with a Roman-inspired marble mosaic, a jacuzzi, a steam bath and a sauna are in the house. Grasse railway station is five minutes away, and Cannes is about thirty minutes by road.
