La Semicroma began in 2003, when the pianist and composer Antonio Nasca moved into the recording industry. The first work was labelling and publishing; the agency then grew into live music events, including weddings, alongside audio production, music marketing and video design. The name comes from the Italian word for a sixteenth note, the short value composers use to say exactly what they mean.
For weddings, the agency acts as the single point of contact for the whole soundtrack. A music designer meets the couple, understands what they want, and then briefs the musicians and staff on what the day needs. Their view is that music should complete an event without overpowering it, and without the discord that comes from unprofessional organisers or musicians.
“Exclusiveness, elegance and emotions are the three words that guide us in the carrying out and fulfilment of an event.”
La Semicroma
The roster is built around four families of music: classical ensembles, jazz and swing, live bands, and DJ sets. Classical options run from string quartets and trios to harp with cello or flute, opera and crossover, and pipe organ. Jazz and swing covers vintage swing, crooner style and jazz manouche, and the bands range from pop and dance to rock and blues, Latin, Italian folk and a one-man sax act.
Ensembles are matched to the moment as well as the style: civil, religious, symbolic, Persian and Jewish ceremonies, then cocktails, dinner, welcome dinner, aperitif, rehearsal dinner and the party itself. Couples can browse by genre or by moment, and request a tailored estimate for the day. The agency is based in Rome and has filmed performances at venues such as Villa Aurelia in Rome and Villa La Foce in Tuscany.
