IKIES Santorini is a hotel of fourteen traditional caved-in houses at the edge of Oia, each with a terrace facing the caldera, used for honeymoons and for weddings arranged with the hotel.
IKIES Santorini stands at the start of Oia village on the northern tip of the island, set back from the crowds at the centre, which is a ten-minute walk away. It is a collection of fourteen houses, maisonettes and suites, with a single villa, cut into the cliff in the traditional caved-in style of the Cyclades. The rooms sit inside the rock, and every terrace faces the caldera and the volcano. The first six houses opened in 1999, and the collection has grown in stages since, with the latest two joining by 2020.
The hotel is used for honeymoons and for weddings arranged with the team. Most residences have a private hot tub, breakfast arrives on the terrace and dinner is served on the veranda, so a couple can keep the whole stay to themselves. The Winemaker's Suite is a honeymoon hideaway, and a package of flowers, champagne and massages is offered for the occasion. Guests spend the evenings on their own terrace watching the light change over the caldera, and the reception desk arranges sailing, tours and treatments for the days between.

Cave houses at the edge of Oia
The residences were carved out of original cliff-cave captain's houses in the island's caved-in style, so the rooms sit inside the rock and the terraces open onto the caldera. The first six houses opened in 1999, and more were added in 2004 and by 2020.
A honeymoon in a private house
The Winemaker's Suite is a honeymoon hideaway with an entirely secluded terrace, and the Boatman's House is a love nest. Eleven of the fourteen residences have a private hot tub, and the Diamond Honeymoon Package adds flowers, champagne and massages.
Weddings and celebrations
The hotel hosts weddings as well as honeymoons. Each residence has its own terrace, so numbers, dates and the choice of house are agreed directly with the hotel.
Caldera and sunset views
The hotel sits on the rim of the caldera, away from the crowds that gather in Oia at sunset, so guests watch the evening sky from their own terrace.
Private hot tubs
Eleven of the fourteen residences have a hot tub on the terrace, and the Collector's Villa has a private spa area with a hot tub that flows from inside to out.

Flowers on arrival, rose petals on the bed, champagne at breakfast, two massage treatments and hammam towels to keep, with wine and cheese in the evening.
Dining on the terrace
Breakfast is served on the private terrace each morning, and a private dining menu of Greek and international dishes is served on the veranda from midday to 22:00.
Sailing from Ammoudi Bay
The hotel arranges half-day catamaran trips around the volcano from the marina at Ammoudi Bay below Oia, with a barbecue on board.
Wellness and excursions
Yoga sessions and private massages are offered on the terraces, and the reception desk organises private tours to ancient Thira, Akrotiri and the island's villages.
